The farm is a large sized building mainly used to grow Crops that can be used as raw food or herbs for your Nuggets. It has an average build time due to it's moderate resource requirements and build points. The Agriculture Perk must be researched before this building becomes available.
✫ The farm itself does not require water, but the crops do.
Once constructed, the farm can immediately support the employment of one nugget as a Farmer. Two more spots can be unlocked later in the future.
The farmer is responsible for planting the seeds of the crops you select, watering and maintaining the crops, and harvesting them once they are done.
- Main article: Crops
There are currently 10 crops to choose from, 7 being foods and 3 being herbs. Each crop has a desired biome that they grow best in, has a set temperature range, and yield a set amount of raw food or herbs.
When the farm is first built, a nugget must be hired to work on it before it can become fully functional. A crop must then be selected by left clicking on the farm and clicking on the crop selection button. From here, you can choose what to grow.
The crops are affected by the current temperature / season, and the availability of water. Any issues that occur may cause the crops to wilt and die off. Once harvested, the raw food will be stored on the farm until eaten by nuggets, or collected by the Cooks from the Eatery to be converted into prepared meals.
Nuggets that eat raw food provided by the farm will only satisfy their hunger up to 75%.
Clicking on the farm will open its information panel which includes:
- Currently hired nuggets.
- Amount of raw foods stored in the farm.
- Amount of herbs stored in the farm.
- Currently growing crop and its progress bar represented by a blue circle around its image.
- The next crop to grow after the current is done.
- Information on the currently growing crop such as:
- Time remaining
- Crops successfully grown / total possible.
- The current durability of the farm itself.
- The power and water requirement meters.
